Optical Fiber Applications
Ultra-low jitter clock oscillators play a significant role in improving data transmission speeds in fiber optic networks, particularly in high-speed networking and data center environments. By providing stable, accurate, and low-noise timing signals, ultra-low jitter clock oscillators enable the high-speed, high-performance fiber optic communications systems required in modern networking and data center infrastructures.
Ultra-low jitter clock oscillators improve signal integrity in high-speed data transmission by reducing noise in optical systems. They provide the high-frequency, low-jitter clock signals required by digital signal processors (DSPs) used in optical modules. They also provide improved vibration sensitivity to help minimize packet loss and reduce bit error rates by providing more precise timing of data signals.
The Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) used in today’s optical transceivers require high frequency, ultra-low jitter clock oscillators, VCXOs and VCSOs as a frequency reference. Raltron has a complete line of oscillators designed to be compatible with or to serve as a reference design for some of the foremost optical DSPs used in optical transceivers.
