LoRa
Targetting particularly at key requirements of internet of things, Long Range(LoRa) – 2-way wireless solution that complements machine to machine cellular infrastructure providing low cost and low power ultra-long range spread spectrum communication is getting more and more focus.
Quick Links
Long Range (LoRa) is a method for transmitting radio signals that uses a chirped, multi-symbol format to encode information. Targeting IoT, Smart City, Smart Home and many more applications, LoRa is a 2-way wireless solution that complements machine to machine cellular infrastructure providing low cost and low power ultra-long range spread spectrum communication. Using proprietary chip technology by Semtech, and licensed to other chip manufacturers, these are standard ISM band radio chips that convert radio frequency to bits, without the need to write additional code to implement the radio system. LoRa can be used in a variety of applications outside of wide area. Different from LoRa, LoRaWANTM is a point-to-multipoint networking protocol that uses Semtech’s LoRa scheme to enable the radio waves to communicate with LoRaWAN gateways to do things like encryption and identification.
