The RSTX series is available with CMOS or Clipped Sine outputs, and comes in a 7.0×5.0 mm package. It has low power consumption, and is therefore ideal for battery operated devices. The series is available in two standards temperature ranges: Class I (-40/55) and Class II (-20/55). Other temperature ranges can be customized per the user’s need.

A COSPAS-SARSAT beacon can be activated in a life-threatening situation to request assistance.

The beacon transmits over the 406 MHz radio frequency band, and has stringent testing regimens it must meet prior to being shipped to users. The stability of the TCXO is critical for correct transmission, and must be thoroughly tested prior to being used in the beacons. Medium term stability is characterized according to COSPAS-SARSAT standards, and must pass limits that are lower from the ones imposed on the final beacon assembly.

Raltron RSTX TCXO’s are serialized, and test data for each individual unit is available for at least 10 years after shipment.
